Let me start at the beginning. In our new ward we have a weekly crocheting lesson (thursday nights at 7) so i got all excited last week and i pulled out some yarn that we had and i got me some crocheting hooks so i started to try and work my magic and refresh my self on the art of crocheting. I thought i did ok too i had made Daniel a ear warmer and i tabogen (a beany) i even lined the inside of them so they would be soft and not itchy. i will post some pics and then go on with my story...
So last night i went to the crocheting lesson and was shocked at how hard reading a pattern really is!!! I am not good at instructions unless someone just shows me how to do it. Im a very hands on person so instructions and i do not get along together real well. A girl named Sara gave me a pattern of a beautiful afghan and she said she has made it and its super easy and it says its an easy pattern, well im totally stumped!! Crocheting is so addicting and i usually can sit down and crochet for hours at a time, but not this time. I would like to sit down and be able to do it but i swear the pattern is in spanish!! Sara said for me to text call or come over to her house if i ever need help, well i was on the phone with her last night, she did not know what she was getting her self into! If anyone has any tips on reading a pattern please please please help me out!! Till next time....
i tried to use a pattern once, but it's like greek. So I made double stitch blankets on a huge hook, and they were wonderful. until they came undone. now the boys use the hooks as swords.... Good luck! Teach me when you learn how!
ReplyDeletei think i got it and i cant wait for it to be done but i have a billion 4" 4" squares i have to do woo hoo haha its not to bad i just had to look at the picture haha
ReplyDeleteOH MY LANTA!!! I love your blog!! So stinkin cute!! I miss you guys!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE crocheting! And it really is very easy. Once you get the hang of it you won't be able to stop! If you're having trouble look in the front of the book or google about how to do individual stitches. like a dbl crochet or whatever. That'd help you a ton.
