Leadville Colorado 2010

This weekend my family came up from Utah to go to my dads Mt. Bike race. It was in Leadville Colorado which is about 2 hours from Alamosa. I was lucky enough to meet them in Leadville on friday. Daniel was going to come with but football camp is taking up all of his time right now. So it was a weekend with my family. Leadville is just a little mining town, it is so cute, some of the homes are just fun and colorful, and the building are old and cute.

So this race that my dad did is the Leadville 100, or Race Across the Sky, it is a 100 mile Mt. bike race with the altitude of 1200 or more. Now you may be asking "why in the world would you want to do that"? well my dad loves to push him self and to become better at what he loves. When picking people for this race it is like they draw names out of a hat, so you are very lucky if you are chosen to participate in this race. Last year my dad was able to do it, his tame was 9 hours and 42 min. Last year Lance Armstrong won the race at 6 hours and 23 min I believe. Lance did not make it this year he pulled out 2 days before the race. This race is super challenging the altitude is so high and some the hills they have to climb are just unbelievable steep and long. This year my dad beat his time he got 9 hours and 22 mins. He did great I am so amazed at how some people can do things like that. Im so proud of my dad!!

It was kind of fun to see one of the first Bachelors ( that tv show) the one that is married and now has like 2 kids.

Anyways afterwards we went do dinner and went to this really cute out side cart that serves creps ( sorry i dont know how to spell) it was cool to watch how they make them, and then they fold them in thirds they are not only cute but yummy!

I was able to get a souvenir on this trip... Sunburn and some great farmers tans oh and blisters on my noes :(

All In all it was a great fun little trip but i really missed my hubby! I got home around one this afternoon and wont see Daniel till around 10 tonight :( and i am looking forward to having a good nights rest tonight! Love you Sweetie xoxo
