The Birth Story

I am a terrible writer and was never good in English class so bare with me on this one.
I was really wanting to just go into labor on my own but I really wanted my mom to be there so Daniel and I decided that I would just be induced on the 28th of February, the same day that my mom was flying to Texas. Linda, Daniel's mom was going to go to Dallas to pick my mom up and bring her right to the Hospital in Longview, which was about 2 hours away from the airport.
Daniel and I got to the Hospital at around 5:30 am. We were in my room by around 6 am and I was started on pitocin by I think 7 am. I had been having contractions for a few weeks but the long hard ones at night when I was most relaxed. So then the contractions started coming on longer and harder. A little later I think maybe around 9 or 9:30 my Dr. came in and broke my water. My nurse checked me a little bit later and I was dilated to a good 5. The contractions started to get painful and so got the epidural I think around 11 or 11:30. My sister-in-law (Kim) came to the hospital to play mom till my mom got to the hospital. Around 1:50 they checked me again and I was dilated to a good 9 and told me I was going to start to push in 20 to 30 min! After they told us that everything just seemed to go by so fast!! And my mom was still on her way to the hospital (she kept on telling me to not push or to just not push hard haha) next thing we knew it was go time. My mom was still not there so Kim and Daniel held my legs and were my coaches! Daniel did such an amazing job. I was worried he would pass out because he can't watch me get a shot or blood drawn so I was curios to see how he would do. But Daniel and Kim did a great job. So I pushed for about an hour and 15 min. Lincoln was born at 3:29 pm! And my mom got there maybe 10 -15 mins. after he came! I was so sad that she missed it but so happy she was there! We did not think that I would progress that fast because it was my first baby.
It was truly the most amazing feeling to give birth! My mom always told me that she would give birth every day of the week if she could. I always thought she was crazy but I understand why she says that because I totally agree with her. At first I was wanting to do it natural and I was totally against getting an epidural. But I'm really glad I did because I was able to enjoy the birth of my son instead of being in pain the whole time. My Dr. a few days before was guessing that Linc would be about a 7 to maybe 8 lb baby so we were all surprised when he came out weighting at 9 lbs and 4 oz. Hims a big big boy. The pushing and delivery went so fast to me I still can't believe that he is here and happy and healthy! I love Lincoln so much and I don’t know how Daniel and I ever lived without him! It feels as if we have always just had him in our family even though he has only been with us for 3 weeks!
It is kind of a short birth story but it was fast moving so it was not long at all haha.
